Email Fundraising Campaign Ideas
Your email list is the one channel you fully own, no algorithm decides who sees it. A well-timed campaign to your existing list often outperforms a lot of flashier ideas.

How this fundraiser actually works
Segment your list, donors, volunteers, past event attendees, and send a different ask to each. A lapsed donor needs a different email than someone who gave last month. Year-end (November and December) and Giving Tuesday are the two biggest email fundraising windows of the year for most organizations.
A short series of three or four emails over one to two weeks outperforms a single email almost every time. The first tells the story, the middle ones add urgency or mention a matching gift, and the last is a plain last-chance reminder.
Email fundraising lives or dies on your list quality, not your subject line. If your list is old, bought, or hasn’t been emailed in a year, you’ll get more out of cleaning it up first than out of any clever copy. And most organizations wait too long to start, the year-end and Giving Tuesday emails that actually convert are written and scheduled weeks in advance, not the week of.

Want a fundraiser that doesn’t depend on your list’s open rate?
A raffle sells in person and online both, so it doesn’t live or die on whether people open an email. See why a raffle is usually the best idea on this list, or jump straight in.
