Webinar and Workshop Fundraising Ideas
Somebody who already knows something useful teaches it, you charge a small fee or ask for a donation to attend, and everyone joins from home. It works best when your group already has someone people would pay to learn from.

How this fundraiser actually works
Find someone with real expertise people want, a local chef, a financial planner, a fitness instructor, or someone already on your board, and ask them to donate an hour. Set a ticket price or a suggested donation, usually $10 to $25, and run it on a simple platform like Zoom or Google Meet. A live Q&A at the end gives people a reason to show up instead of waiting for the recording.
Give yourself two to three weeks to promote it, since a “come learn something” pitch takes longer to catch on than a straightforward ask. Selling access to the recording afterward to people who missed the live session is one thing this format can do that most in-person events can’t.
This one lives or dies on your speaker. A workshop from someone people already want to hear from can sell out fast; the same format with a generic topic and a stranger presenting barely breaks even. It also reaches a narrower crowd than something like a raffle, since not everyone wants to sit through an hour of anything, no matter how good it is.

Want something that doesn’t depend on finding the right speaker?
A raffle doesn’t need an expert or a following, just prizes people want and tickets to sell. See why a raffle is usually the best idea on this list, or jump straight in.
