50/50 Raffle Fundraising
Half the pot goes to the winner. Half stays with the organization. It’s one of the easiest raffle formats to explain, which is exactly why it works so well at events.

How a 50/50 fundraiser works
Supporters buy raffle tickets. All eligible ticket sales create the pot. The selected winner receives half and the organization keeps the other half.
There’s no donated vacation to explain and no prize table to set up. The prize grows because ticket sales grow.
Where 50/50 works best
It’s strongest when you already have a crowd: a sports game, club dinner, community event, fundraiser, meeting, or other gathering where people can see participation building around them.
The pitch takes seconds to understand, which makes a 50/50 a natural add-on to an event that already has another reason for people to attend.
A 50/50 is wonderfully simple, but the organization gives half of the ticket-sale pot away. With a donated-prize raffle, the organization can potentially keep much more of each ticket dollar.
That doesn’t make 50/50 a bad fundraiser. It means the simplicity and event energy need to be worth the split.
Good fit
Sports teams, booster clubs, civic organizations, clubs, and event-based nonprofits are usually the easiest fit because they already have the audience in one place.
